Plains Indian Buffalo Dance

The plains Indians relied on buffalo for every essential needed to survive in the plains. The buffalo skins were used as clothing,shelter,blankets, and other materialistic items. The horns were used for weapons, as were the teeth. Literally every piece of the buffalo has importance to the Native Americans. The buffalo had such a positive impact on the Indians that they would move in coherence to the buffalo's migration routes. Like every Native American dance, this one was performed to give thanksgiving. It was a great honor to be picked to perform the Buffalo dance, it is an honor just to even attend the dance, because of how sacred it is.
